Russ joined the company in October 1987 as a paid YTS Trainee from Sandwell College. In October 1989 Russ became a Trainee Mechanic. In July 1992 Russ transferred to West Bromwich Service Reception &, in June 1993, was promoted to Workshop Reception Manager. In April 1994 Russ was appointed Service Reception & Workshop Manager & also attended Scania Business School. In January 1997 Russ took on responsibility for the Cheltenham & Droitwich depots. In July 1997 Russ's role changed to Account Manager whilst still maintaining responsibility for Cheltenham & Droitwich. Following the arrival of John Biggin at Keltruck, Russ came back to the West Bromwich depot as General Manager &, in January 2003, he also took on responsibility for the Esso Vehicle Maintenance Unit. Following the takeover of East Midland Commercials in December 2004, Russ assumed responsibility for Newark as Regional General Manager. In June 2007 Russ was appointed RGM for Newark, West Bromwich & Willenhall depots and Kingswinford VMU. 

Russ is married to Julie with whom he has a young son, Louis. Outside work interests include family, cars & motorbikes.
