£3m fire engine fleet is unveiled
Nottingham Fire & Rescue have just taken delivery of 15 Scania P270 DB 4x2 MN fire engines.
The 15 fire engines will operate out of West Bridgford, Highfields and Arnold fire stations mark part of a 3 year £5m investment by Nottingham Fire & Rescue. The engines are more robust, light weight and easier to repair due to their plastic bodywork which has replaced the aluminum frames we are used to seeing.
The engines which come equipped with computerized pumps to ensure water is not wasted, they carry specialist cutting equipment and water rescue gear will be introduced over next year.
The Nottinghamshire and City of Nottingham Fire Authority are introducing the engines as part of a three-year investment, the first is going to West Bridgeford, Highfields and Arnold fire stations.
