Graham Page interview
This month sees the eighth instalment of our feature where, each month, we profile a member of the top team. This month Keltruck Depot Manager Graham Page.
How would you describe your role at Keltruck?
Varied, very interesting and certainly challenging, especially in the current climate. Sometimes you need to be a miracle worker and sometimes a social worker.
When did you start at Keltruck?
January 2005.
What did you do before joining Keltruck?
I worked for Scania Bus and Coach and, prior to that, East Midland Commercials. I have been in the Scania network for 25 years.
So how did you get into the industry then?
Most of my family are in the industry in some form. I used to travel the country during school holidays with my father who was a tanker driver and I drove my first lorry in a quarry at the age of 13 (a six wheel Albion).
What do you like about the industry?
The smell of diesel and the characters that this industry attracts.
What do you do outside of work?
I like to go away with my caravan and I enjoy time with my family especially Jake, my 3 year old grandson. I am also a budding Jamie Oliver - well, I think I am anyway!
What was your first car?
Ford Escort 1.3 ex-police panda car (WRR 138G) complete with 8 track sound system!!!! (unfortunately only through one speaker) and a long vehicle plate riveted over the holes in the floor!
So what does the future hold?
If I can I would still like to progress through Keltruck but staying in aftersales.
