A sunny day on Friday 19 April was the perfect backdrop for the grand opening of Keltruck’s newly redeveloped head office in West Bromwich on Junction 1 of the M5 motorway.

The event, which coincided perfectly with Keltruck’s 30 years in business, brought employees, customers; both long-standing and new together to celebrate a remarkable 30-year history and a bright future with the opening of the redeveloped West Bromwich office.

Guests included Keltruck founder Chris Kelly and his family as well as Scania (Great Britain) Managing Director, Hans-Christer Holgersson, and Alan Crossley of Matthew Allen Architectural who were responsible for the new build.

Guests were given a behind the scenes tour of the impressive West Bromwich facilities which sit within the 8.5 acre site. The tour included the large workshop, ATF facilities, parts, accident repair centre, new and used sales as well as the unique end-of-life and recycling centre which recently expanded onto the web via shop.keltruckscania.com.

The new Scania Streamline – one of only three display vehicles in the world – made its first public appearance in the UK alongside a number of historic vehicles from Keltruck’s collection. The truck line-up was joined by a Scania 140 V8, brought along by Gloucestershire operator Charles Russell Transport, and Scania Centurion number 27, kindly brought along by owner and restorer Dion Anderson.

No grand opening would be complete without a ribbon cutting ceremony which was conducted by Andrew Jamieson, Keltruck’s Managing Director & Dealer Principal, and local MP, the Rt. Hon. John Spellar, who in turn toasted the future success of Keltruck, a company that has continued to innovate and grow on the back of the enthusiasm of its people.

Andrew Jamieson commented: “It was a great day, and the number of local customer’s that joined us is perhaps testament to the relationships that exist. The investment at West Bromwich demonstrates that we’re here to stay, and along with my fellow directors we’re driven to make Keltruck the best it can possibly be. I hope that I can come back in another 30 years and see what Keltruck has gone on to achieve.”
