Leading temperature controlled distribution company, NR Evans Logistics, recently took delivery of twenty new Scania tractor units from independent Scania dealer Keltruck Ltd.

The twenty G440 6×2/4 MNA Highline Scania trucks will form an integral part of the 150 strong fleet that NR Evans operates throughout the UK.

Opting for the G-Series range, NR Evans’s recent investment was a calculated decision by the company as the G-Series truck is ideal for their type operation, mainly consisting of timed deliveries of short life, chilled products across the UK.

The G-Series range is powered by the latest 13-litre, 6-cylinder, 440hp engine which has a high torque rating and is coupled to Scania’s Opticruise gearbox fitted with Scania Active Prediction cruise control to ensure great drivability but also enhanced fuel economy by using topography to set the correct gear and throttle level.

The performance of the product was not the only reason for NR Evans’s purchase. Their relationship with Keltruck played a role in the deal as Neil Evans explains:

“Our decision was based on Scania trucks renowned reliability together with the commitment and support from Keltruck as a dealer.”

Ten of the vehicles will be maintained at Keltruck Cross Hands with the remaining ten being supported at the Keltruck Burton on Trent branch.

NR Evans Distribution was established in 1981 by Neil Evans and has continued to grow year by year to become one of the ten largest temperature controlled distribution companies in the UK today, delivering more than £500m of chilled product annually.

Seven operating centers located throughout the UK provide an efficient national and international distribution network whilst also offering local support to customers.
