Latest deal in two-decade relationship

The vehicles will be used to deliver scaffolding, and will be based across the country at Generation UK’s 13 branches. All vehicles are on seven-year repair and maintenance contracts, and will be provided in custom paint work which was adopted three years ago as part of a new image roll out.

Following a fuel efficiency workshop at Keltruck’s head office in West Bromwich, Generation UK is now trialling Scania OnBoard across six of its Scania vehicles. OnBoard is a telematics product which helps increase operational efficiency and vehicle uptime, whilst saving money.

Jamie Whale, national fleet and transport manager at Generation UK, said: “The new vehicles are performing very well, and the initial improvement of 2mpg over the previous vehicles makes a huge difference.

“I found the whole process from quote to order to final delivery seamless,” continued Whale. “The support given from the Keltruck sales team was fantastic, with a can-do attitude.”

Generation UK is a leading supplier of non-mechanical access systems, builders’ equipment and safety products to the construction, events, industrial and utility markets. It is the largest UK supplier of access, scaffolding, safety and training products. Keltruck has been working with Generation UK for over two decades.

Tony Biddlestone, account manager at Keltruck, said: “It is always a pleasure working with Generation UK as they buy trucks on strength and reliability.”

“They have everything on seven-year R&M contracts so that they fix their maintenance cost, as they are a national company with depots across the country and request that the trucks are main dealer serviced,” said Biddlestone.  “They are always open to new ideas and options, regardless of the pricing.”
