Scania is further extending the reach and scope of its Total Transport Solutions concept with the introduction of Vehicle Related Services (VRS), a highly competitive aftermarket programme designed to provide transport operators with a comprehensive one-stop shop for every item of equipment in their fleets.

Covering components as diverse as trailer parts and to fifth-wheel coupling kits and internal load straps to roller shutter doors, the VRS Trailer Component catalogue alone runs to some 200 pages.  Over and above that, the Parts and Consumable Items catalogues extend the offer far further, with many thousands of essential components covered.

“Scania has been undertaking trailer maintenance since the 1980s, during which time our network has built up an enormous level of expertise,” comments Mark Grant, Aftersales Director for Scania (Great Britain) Limited.  “VRS is a natural extension of this.  By offering to undertake maintenance on non-Scania products for our customers, or by supplying the components for their own workshops to carry out the work, we are tailoring our service to meet customers’ requirements in the way that best suits their needs.

“It’s all about convenience for the operator and putting the customer first – a stated core value for Scania today.  The success of this approach is reflected in the fact that 30 percent of all work passing through our workshops today involves equipment other than Scania.  For the future, we intend to build and develop our VRS offering further to incorporate an even wider range of non-Scania products and services.”
