It’s a big welcome back to Scania for A. Hingley Transport (Brierley Hill) Limited, who have just placed into service five new Scania G420LA6x2/2MNAH Highline tractor units. All the vehicles have been supplied on contract hire and will be maintained at our Kingswinford depot.

This order is a major milestone for both the company and Keltruck’s relationship with them as the vehicles will be the first Scania trucks put into service since 1994. But A. Hingley Transport’s relationship with Scania goes back decades as they bought & restored – with Keltruck’s bodyshop‘s help – the first Scania to be imported into the UK (pictured here on the right).

Their new purchase of five Scanias shows the confidence A. Hingley have in Keltruck and the Scania product and services.

Ray Hingley Snr explained the move back to the Scania product:

“For our operation Scania have got this truck completely right – low entry cabs which suit our drivers, not to mention the ability to get a 30t payload with our new lightweight trailer purpose built by our own manufacturing operation. Yes, I think the price of the truck matches the standard.”

Although the product is often the main reason for customers returning to the Scania brand, the backup that comes with the product is also paramount to a haulier’s operation. This deal is no exception, as Ray Snr comments:

“Our relationship with Keltruck goes back many years, from sales through to service. I know if I ask for something they deliver. They go out of their way to work with us.”

A. Hingley Transport are one of the largest and oldest dedicated steel hauliers in the UK carrying in excess of a million tonnes of steel a year for its customers. The company was established in 1960 and operates out of two locations with the head office in Brierley Hill, West Midlands.
