An extra sense of pride is running through the workshops and offices of West Midlands based Scania Dealer, Keltruck Ltd. This is because of the remarkable results the Keltruck apprentices achieved in this year’s Scania Apprentice of the Year competition.

This year Keltruck was represented by apprentice Ben Evans from the Keltruck Sutton branch who achieved 3rd place in his 1st year. Matthew G. Emerson from Keltruck Droitwich and Richard Baker from Keltruck Nottingham achieved 2nd and 3rd place respectively in their 2nd year of the three year apprenticeship scheme.

The apprenticeship scheme is the life blood of Keltruck, as the founder, Chris Kelly, and Managing Director and Dealer Principal, Andrew Jamieson, both began their careers within the industry as apprentices, and also, Aftersales Director Russ Warner began his career as a Keltruck apprentice in 1987.

Russ Warner explains:

“I am extremely proud of all the apprentices that come through this scheme, I know first hand how challenging and rewarding it is for all of them.”

The apprenticeship scheme combines both on the job work with theory and practical elements and, upon completion of the apprenticeship, the successful apprentice will be accredited with a Technical Certificate and Key Skills, an IMI National Diploma and NVQ level 2 & 3 in Maintenance and Repair of Vehicles.
