The Keltruck Newark team emerged as clear winners of the first Scania Top Team UK final. In total the 9 successful teams that reached the UK final, competed against 21 depots that took part in the preliminary rounds during 2006.

The UK final, held at the Scania Training Centre in Loughborough on Friday 23 February, provided an excellent venue for all competitors to gain further valuable experience and knowledge of the current Scania product range which is the ethos of the competition run by Scania Sweden every two years.

The Newark team, comprising Ian Spafford, Rob Farmer, Mark White and Nick Brayshaw, came first with 136 points. The Bellshill team finished in second place with 121 points and Sittingbourne came third with 119 points.

Keltruck Newark now go forward to an International semi-final at Sodertalje during May and, if successful in Sweden, to the November Global final in Warsaw, Poland.

Other teams successful in reaching the UK final were:- Graham Commercials, Carlisle; TruckEast, Ely; Silurian Scania, Cardiff; Scania North East, Darlington; Haydock Commercials, Haydock and West Pennine Trucks, Trafford Park.

The event has put Top Team firmly on the UK calendar. The finalists all eagerly await the start of the 2007/8 competition and would recommend all workshops to consider submitting teams.
