A news round-up from the Keltruck management team.
West Bromwich Depot
Thanks to my staff at the depot for their efforts and hard work in January which resulted in the best month ever for the depot. Congratulations everyone!
Accident Repair Centre
Congratulations to Grant Lawley, Bodyshop Apprentice, who has achieved the accolade of Student of the Year at Sandwell College. Congratulations Grant.
Paul ‘Toby’ Talbot

The company has purchased a new recovery trailer which will be used for the collection and delivery of new trucks and also the transportation of damaged trucks. The trailer is fitted with tri axles with air suspension and a 5 tonne winch. Together with this we have purchased a used R124 6×2 tractor unit which Micky Perrott will primarily be driving.
A tremendous month for the department — 43 new sales delivered, 36 used sales delivered & 17 imported cars delivered; a total of 96 vehicles. All credit to the sales team, Aftersales, Bodyshop and Recycling. It just shows what a team effort can do. Let’s keep it up.

Keltruck dot com
Keltruck has now registered the domain name keltruck.com meaning that the company website can now be accessed through www.keltruck.co.uk AND www.keltruck.com. Does this mean that Keltruck has become a part of the dot com boom?? Let’s hope so!
“I am very pleased to announce to you all that I have appointed John Biggin as deputy Managing Director with immediate effect. I know that when I am away, John will do a 100% job for me and that you will all congratulate him in this new position. Our result for January was the best month in the company’s history with a very good start to the year with every area doing well (and February looking very good too) reflecting everyone’s efforts. Well done to all! ‘You’re Simply The Best!’
I am sorry to tell you that Stuart has accepted an offer to continue his career elsewhere in a senior role outside of the Commercial Vehicle sector. I am very sorry to lose Stuart who has done a tremendous job.”
Chairman & Managing Director
“Just a note to say thank you for everyone’s support and help over the last twelve months — especially Maria, the rest of the Accounts team, Chris, Mike & John. It’s pleasing to say that I am leaving the company in great financial shape & I wish all my colleagues well for, what I’m sure will be, a successful future”.
Simon Hobson has been appointed as Financial Controller and will be joining the company on 2nd April. Simon is currently with the Hamer Toyota group based in Tamworth.
HONG KONG TRIP
Chris and I spent a few days in the Far East last week, visiting some of our recycling customers in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Export sales now account for almost half of our turnover in Recycling (and growing), much of which going to this part of the world. We had some very constructive meetings with our customers and we received a very warm welcome (they drink a lot of Whisky in Taiwan!). The potential for expansion in this area is enormous, and this is an area of our business which we will be expanding on.
I am pleased to announce that John Small and Andrew Bentley are joining the company (both from DT Truck and Bus). This will give the company a massive boost to our new & recycled parts marketing activities. Mark Boden is no longer employed by the company.
Stephen Wooldridge will be joining us on the 1st March as Export Marketing Executive. Stephen, who is 23, is a graduate of Birmingham University and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (2:1 with honours).
