The introduction of Scania’s seven-litre engine platform means the company now offers a total of four engine ranges – the others being nine-litre, 13-litre and 16-litre – providing a broad spectrum of power outputs from 220 to 730 horsepower.

“Scania’s aim is to provide a solution for every transport application from 18-tonnes upwards,” comments Andrew Jamieson, Sales Director for Scania (Great Britain) Limited.  “In every case, our engines are highly fuel-efficient, robust and designed to meet the most stringent environmental criteria.  Furthermore, with a broad choice of fuelling options available – depending on model, these include HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), biodiesel, dedicated biogas or natural gas, bioethanol and hybrid – the Scania engine range has been designed for sustainability as well as performance.”
