Keltruck have been on hand to help support Scania throughout Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Aggreko Generators supplied 10 gensets (GEN320kVA) with Scania DC09 engines across five Commonwealth Games venues and Scania UK had been requested to support these generators with 24/7 cover. As the local Scania dealer this was passed to Keltruck to assist.

Two of our industrial engine trained HGV technicians, Phil Green & Mark Shilton, agreed to be on call should their help be needed and, in preparation for the games, they both had to undergo security clearance to ensure they gained access to the key sites during the games.

As well as the generators, Keltruck also supported Stagecoach Bus who supplied around 40 of their Scania buses for the games, based locally in Oldbury. Keltruck Scania West Bromwich were asked to assist, starting with a pre games test in May.

David Howe, Engineering Director at Stagecoach, commented; “The local Keltruck Scania branch were excellent during the May test event and we are in contact with Andrew, the Manager.”

Andrew Pryjmachuk, West Bromwich Branch Manager, commented; “As Phil and Mark have the required security clearance, it made sense for them both to also support Stagecoach in this activity. I’d like to thank Phil & Mark, along with the team at West Brom, for their continued support during this high-profile event.”
