Keltruck Scania helps third generation family run business continue to grow

Business relationship between FR Somerset and Keltruck Scania continues to deepen

FR Somerset Limited is a family run business with over 65 years’ experience in road transport and warehousing. They exclusively undertake curtain side work, with a fleet of tractor units, and deliver a variety of loads ranging from the food industry to construction.

The Derbyshire based business is into its third generation, with the founder’s grandson Andrew Somerset now at the helm. Offering a competitive, reliable and flexible service to meet their customers ever changing needs, FR Somerset is building on years of experience with continual investment in vehicle and trailer equipment to provide a modern, reliable and environmentally focused fleet.

They operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and offer flexible nationwide distribution and warehousing services, with a consistent standard and approach across a broad customer base which includes both blue chip and small privately owned businesses.

Keltruck are delighted to be supporting Andrew’s vision for the growth and future of his company, FR Somerset, with the provision of Scania trucks – the first of which went on the road in September 2019. Once the finishing touches are complete on their new delivery a further two Scania vehicles will take the FR Somerset Scania fleet to a total of 17, with more trucks on order for 2024’s requirements.

All vehicles come with two years factory repair and maintenance and subsequent two-year Service Plus contracts, for total peace of mind, all maintained at Keltruck Scania Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Company owner Andrew Somerset says:

The business has been operating for many generations now, covering the nation to meet the needs of the ever-changing industry. As the business is 24 hours, it is vital to us that our vehicles are maintained to a high standard, which is why we opt for servicing from the main dealer.

The Scania fleet is relatively new to our business but the drivers like the vehicles, and with the support from Calum Crooks in sales and Matt Mawer in service we have continued with more additions to our fleet.
