Keltruck donation strengthens vital care and counselling services at Treetops Hospice
Treetops Hospice has received a £5,000 donation from leading Scania truck distributor, Keltruck Limited, to support its specialist bereavement counselling service for children, young people and local families.
While the funding is directed to Treetops’ dedicated counselling support, it will also help the charity continue delivering its wider range of free hospice services. These include its Hospice at Home nursing, emotional support and counselling for adults as well as young people.
Last year, the Derbyshire-based charity provided more than 34,000 hours of care to over 2,000 patients, ensuring people could spend their final days in the comfort of their own homes.
Treetops’ counselling service also delivered over 5,000 hours of bereavement support, including more than 1,500 hours for children and young people in its dedicated Saplings building, created as part of the BBC’s DIY SOS Big Build for Children in Need.
Keltruck, established in 1983 and now the largest independent Scania distributor worldwide, operates 17 sites across the Midlands and South Wales.
Supporting local communities and charities like Treetops is a core part of its values.
Russ Warner, Director at Keltruck Scania, said: “Hospices like Treetops do such important work and as charities require support from the local community to continue operating. We were pleased to be able to make this contribution to Treetops’ vital work for families across Derbyshire.”
John Knight, Chief Executive at Treetops Hospice, said: “We are so grateful to Keltruck for this generous donation, which will make a real difference in enabling us to continue reaching our local community with a range of support.
“Corporate partnerships like this one are vital in helping Treetops deliver the care our community relies on and ensuring we can continue providing our essential services to those who need it.”

Last year, the Treetops nursing team supported over 2,000 patients, with over 34,000 hours of end-of-life care delivered.
The bereavement counselling team provided more than 5,000 hours of sessions – including over 1,500 for children and young people. The Wellbeing team also offers vital information, guidance, and emotional support to those who need it most.
