Keltruck Scania was delighted to welcome Charnwood’s Member of Parliament, Edward Argar, to Groby to meet staff and discuss the expansion and redevelopment of the site currently being planned.

Edward, elected in May 2015, took the time during a constituency Friday to visit Midland Distribution Centre on Markfield Road where he was greeted by Keltruck Scania branch manager Damian Adams.

Edward was invited to visit by our chairman, Chris D. Kelly, himself formerly a Conservative MP (now retired).

Following the visit Edward commented:

Keltruck is an important local business in Groby, with its workshop and depot on the A50 playing a role not only in providing skilled local jobs and contributing to the local economy, but also in helping keep trucks for moving for businesses across the East Midlands.

It was great to see the workshop and depot in action and to meet staff, but also to have the opportunity to talk to Keltruck’s local manager about the importance of them having strong and open relationships with the local community, and their commitment to community engagement about their operations.

Chris commented:

Thank you to Edward for accepting the invitation to visit us and for taking the time to talk with our staff.

We will soon be starting work at Midland Distribution Site expanding the site – subject to planning permission – in order to better serve our customers, boost the local economy and create jobs. We look forward to having Edward back for the grand reopening when all works are completed.
