Robert Powell – Biography

Rob joined Keltruck in 2023 as General Manager – Resource Development.

Rob left college at 17 and followed several members of his family by joining the HGV industry, starting out as an Apprentice Auto Electrician at the local Volvo dealer.

After becoming a Master Technician with Volvo, in 2010 Rob moved into the Scania network with West Pennine Trucks.

Rob led the Middleton team to the UK Scania Top Team final in 2012 and in the same year was selected for the Scania Management Trainee program. Whilst on his studies he then transitioned to working for SGB as a Workshop Supervisor at Scania Leeds.

Rob then started at the Training Centre in 2015 as a Project Coordinator to work on the development and roll out of MyCompass.

In 2016, Rob was then promoted to Commercial Training Manager and held the position until late 2018.

Rob then spent the next four years running numerous workshops spread nationally for a Mercedes Benz truck and van franchise before joining Keltruck.

In his spare time, Rob has an award winning Mk2 Volkswagen Golf which he enjoys showing and spends time with his father and friends participating in trackdays and motorsport events. Both he and his wife like to attend comedy and music gigs, too.
